# Gerudo Training Ground Walkthrough — Ocarina of Time remake (Switch 2)

Chapter 21 · Adult Link · Optional dungeon. Updated Nov 1, 2026.

An optional gauntlet of timed fights, lava jumps and puzzle rooms built by the Gerudo to test their warriors. Clear its trials, collect enough keys to crack the central maze, and you walk away with the Ice Arrows.

**Goal:** Optional: collect the Small Keys and reach the Ice Arrows at the center of the maze.

**Rewards:** Ice Arrows

## 1. Before You Enter

1. (Tip) The Gerudo Training Ground is completely optional. Its only major prize is the Ice Arrows, and the game can be finished without them.
2. (Watch out) Bring the Longshot, Fairy Bow, Hover Boots, Megaton Hammer, Iron Boots, Zora Tunic, Silver Gauntlets, Lens of Truth, bombs and the Song of Time. The Scarecrow's Song is handy too.
3. You need the Gerudo's Card. Talk to the Gerudo in white beside the training ground's entrance in the fortress grounds and pay 10 Rupees to go in.
4. (Watch out) Leave and you pay the fee again to get back in.

## 2. The Lobby

1. Shoot the eye switch above the entrance with an arrow. Two chests appear, holding arrows and a rupee.
2. (Tip) Play the Song of Storms between the pillars at the far end of the lobby to summon a Big Fairy that refills your hearts.
3. Three doors lead out: left, right and straight ahead. The one straight ahead opens into the treasure maze, which you'll tackle last. This route starts through the left door and loops around to the right one.
4. (Tip) There are nine Small Keys and nine locked doors. The path to the Ice Arrows uses seven, so if you grab every key you can't strand yourself.
5. (Watch out) Several rooms run on a timer. If it runs out, you're sent back to the start of the room and the challenge resets.

## 3. Stalfos Garden and the Obstacle Course

1. Left door: two Stalfos attack in a room with a sandy floor, and you have one minute to defeat both.
2. (Tip) The sand drags at your feet if you stand still. Keep moving and fight from the firmer ground.
3. (You get) Beat both Stalfos and a chest appears with a Small Key.
4. The next room is an obstacle course with a minute and a half on the clock. Collect five Silver Rupees while dodging rolling boulders and walls of fire, using Hookshot targets to reach the high ones.
5. (Watch out) A Wallmaster haunts the course. Keep moving so it never gets a clean drop on you.
6. With all five collected, the doors open. Hookshot to the target behind the wall of flame to move on.

## 4. The Wolfos Room and the Sand Pits

1. A pack of Wolfos attacks, followed by tougher White Wolfos. Defeat them all to make a chest of arrows appear.
2. Push the huge silver block with the Silver Gauntlets to open a side room filled with sand pits.
3. Like Likes rise out of the sand. Defeat them and chests appear down in the pits.
4. Use the Lens on the pit that looks empty: it hides an invisible chest with a Small Key.
5. (Watch out) Leave the chest on the raised altar alone. It's a trap.
6. Back in the Wolfos room, turn on the Lens and look above the doorways. A hidden alcove holds a Hookshot target; pull yourself up and step on the switch inside to open the way to the statue room.

## 5. The Statue Room and the Hammer Room

1. A statue with four eyes stands at the center, and you ride a revolving floor around it. Shoot all four eyes with arrows within about 20 seconds.
2. (You get) Hit all four in time and a chest appears with a Small Key.
3. The room's upper level leads to a cut-off wing of the treasure maze with a chest holding another Small Key. If you're on the lower level, play the Scarecrow's Song and Hookshot to Pierre to get up there.
4. Continue on into the hammer room, where Torch Slugs and Fire Keese wait. Defeat them all to raise the bars and reveal a chest of arrows on the wall.
5. A wall of fire surrounds the chest in the middle. Smash the stone totems with the Megaton Hammer until you uncover a hidden floor switch; stepping on it puts out the flames.
6. (You get) Open the center chest for a Small Key.
7. (Tip) Hammering the blocks also exposes an eye switch. Shoot it to open the bars between the hammer room and the statue room.

## 6. Lava and Water

1. Next is the lava room, a field of stone platforms over molten rock. Five Silver Rupees are spread across it. Hop between platforms, using the Hover Boots for wide gaps and Hookshot targets where you see them.
2. The last rupee sits inside a ring of fire. Step on the nearby floor switch to drop the flames for a short time, then grab it.
3. (Watch out) Falling into the lava sends you back to the entrance of the room, and any rupees you hadn't finished collecting reset.
4. On the high ground near the treasure maze, play the Song of Time to raise blocks you can climb. A loose Small Key waits on top.
5. Collecting all five rupees opens the gate to the underwater room.
6. Play the Song of Time to clear the Time Blocks. Underneath is a rotating pool of water.
7. Put on the Zora Tunic and Iron Boots and dive. Collect the Silver Rupees on the bottom while dodging the blade trap and the Shell Blades.
8. (You get) When you surface, a chest appears with a Small Key.
9. Return to the lava room and take the exit toward the Dinolfos room.

## 7. Dinolfos and Beamos

1. This room gives you a minute and a half. Bomb the Beamos first, then take on the two Dinolfos.
2. (Tip) Dinolfos breathe fire and leap over your head to strike from behind. Block, wait for an opening and counter. Stay out of the corners, where walls of fire erupt.
3. (You get) Beat them in time and a chest appears with a Small Key.
4. The door here leads back to the lobby. You should now hold eight keys.

## 8. The Treasure Maze and the Ice Arrows

1. Go through the door straight ahead in the lobby into the treasure maze, a set of fenced cells separated by locked doors.
2. Take the left branch and unlock the first door on the left.
3. Turn on the Lens: the ceiling of this cell is fake. Climb the chain-link fence up through it to a hidden chest with the ninth Small Key.
4. Drop back down and keep unlocking doors toward the center. Side cells along the way hold rupees and arrows.
5. (Tip) The right branch is a dead end that links to the lava room side. Its chests hold Bombchus and arrows, so it's only worth opening once you have keys to spare.
6. (You get) The big chest in the center holds the Ice Arrows. They freeze many enemies solid and use magic with each shot.
7. Head back out through the lobby. There are no Gold Skulltulas in the Training Ground, so you're done here.
