Side Quests, Trading & Masks

The Biggoron's Sword trade, every Happy Mask Shop mask, and all the minigames and side quests worth your time.

Updated

Quick answer

The adult trading sequence ends with Biggoron's Sword, the strongest blade in the game. It takes 12 hand-offs, and a few steps have a time limit, so warp ahead and don't stop on the way. The child sequence opens the Happy Mask Shop; selling all its masks unlocks the Mask of Truth.

Adult trade: Biggoron's Sword

  1. Pocket Egg

From: The Cucco Lady in Kakariko Village

Give to: Nobody; let it hatch

It hatches after a night passes, so wait or play the Sun's Song.

  2. Pocket Cucco

Give to: Talon, asleep in a house in Kakariko Village

Use it inside his house to wake him, then return to the Cucco Lady.

  3. Cojiro

From: The Cucco Lady, after Talon is awake

Give to: Grog, the man slumped in the Lost Woods

Cojiro was her brother Grog's blue Cucco.

  4. Odd Mushroom

From: Grog in the Lost Woods

Give to: The old woman in the back room of Kakariko's Potion Shop

    3 minutes limit

Warping cancels the delivery, so run or ride Epona and enter the shop from its back door.

  5. Odd Potion

From: The old woman at Kakariko's Potion Shop

Give to: Fado, the Kokiri girl who has taken Grog's place in the Lost Woods

Called the Odd Poultice in the 3DS version.

  6. Poacher's Saw

From: Fado in the Lost Woods

  7. Broken Goron's Sword

From: The carpenters' boss in Gerudo Valley

Biggoron's sore eyes stop him from fixing it right away.

  8. Prescription

    From: Biggoron

Give to: King Zora in Zora's Domain

King Zora must be thawed with Blue Fire before he can help.

  9. Eyeball Frog

    3 minutes limit

Warping cancels the delivery; Epona makes the ride to the lake much quicker.

  10. World's Finest Eye Drops

    From: The Lakeside Laboratory scientist

Give to: Biggoron at the summit of Death Mountain Trail

    4 minutes limit

Warping cancels the delivery; the Lost Woods shortcut to Goron City or a bean platform on Death Mountain Trail saves time.

  11. Claim Check

    From: Biggoron

Give to: Biggoron, once the sword is ready

Biggoron needs three days, which you can skip by playing the Sun's Song six times.

  12. Biggoron's Sword

From: Biggoron, in exchange for the Claim Check

Give to: Nobody; it's the final reward

Child trade: Weird Egg to the mask shop

  1. Weird Egg

From: Malon, on the path to Hyrule Castle

Give to: Nobody; let it hatch

It hatches into a Cucco the next time the sun rises.

  2. Cucco

    From: The hatched Weird Egg

Give to: Talon, asleep by the crates at Hyrule Castle

Its crowing wakes Talon, who runs home to Lon Lon Ranch and leaves his crates free to push.

  3. Zelda's Letter

From: Princess Zelda in the Castle Courtyard

Give to: The guard at the Death Mountain Trail gate in Kakariko Village

Showing it opens the gate to Death Mountain and opens the Happy Mask Shop, where the mask sequence begins.
